Hi all
I was just wondering if any of you knew the answer to this question or had been in a similar situation. Ive had two lots of penicillin (antibiotic) for tonsilitis. Ive been told that antibiotics stop your conctraceptive pill from working. But I was wondering how many weeks I had to use extra precautions for? Ive had a look online but the info is all a bit confusing. I want to be safe rather than sorry. Thanks xxxx

Ahhh yeah Id read about that one. I was suprised that the leaflet on penicillin mentioned nothing about the contraceptive pill.

sheesh, never heard about penicilin affecting the pill before either. Thank God I'm actually allergic to peniciline *whistles*

Maybe a phone call to a doctors office would be a good idea
